Jon Churn, Board Member

Montessori educator, Lewisville, North Carolina

Jon is a passionate career Montessori educator with over 30 years of experience, 17 of which in school leadership. His career has been dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children/youth, their families and, by extension, our larger community. Jon holds a Masters of Education, an AMI Elementary Credential and an AMS School Administrators Certification. Jon has served as the Director of Innovation and Advancement for AMI/USA, Board Chair for the Montessori Administrators Association (MAA), a conference presenter, and educational and leadership consultant and coach.  Jon is also a proud Montessori parent of two young adults that attended Montessori from the age of 18 months through 9th grade.  

I believe deeply in Dr. Montessori’s pedagogical approach that focuses on serving the whole individual, and understand that intellectual/academic growth is inextricably tied to physical and social/emotional development. I am collaborative by nature and, through experience, have come to value the power of servant leadership, understanding that when others are inspired to share their gifts for a common vision, lasting progress can be achieved. -Jon Churn
